Finding a component is only half the job. Before anything is confirmed to you, we check it against your specification and look hard at where it’s actually come from. Where certification or compliance documentation applies to your application, we can request it from the supplier and pass it through — what’s required is assessed case by case, against what the part is for.

Specification verification

Every requirement is checked against what you’ve told us — part number, drawing, datasheet, or the specification you’ve described. Where a direct match isn’t available, we’ll say so and set out any approved-equivalent options rather than substitute quietly.

Manufacturer traceability

We ask where a part has actually come from, not just whether it matches on paper. For obsolete or hard-to-find components in particular, provenance gets more attention, not less — batch and serial traceability can be requested from the supplier where it’s relevant to your application.

Documentation and certificates

Test certificates, conformity declarations and other supporting documentation can be requested as part of a quote where your application calls for them. Tell us what documentation you need alongside the part itself, and we’ll factor it into the sourcing process rather than treat it as an afterthought.

Hazardous area equipment

For components destined for hazardous or classified areas, ATEX and IECEx marking and documentation are treated as part of the specification, not an add-on — tell us the zone and classification your application requires and we’ll factor it into the sourcing search from the start.

UK and EU compliance, import documentation

Where UKCA or CE marking, or import and customs documentation, is relevant to a shipment, we work through what’s needed as part of the quote rather than leaving it for you to chase afterwards.

Supplier due diligence

We don’t take a listing at face value. Suppliers are assessed on their ability to actually support the specification, documentation and traceability a requirement calls for — not just on price.
